POWDER COATING PROCESS

STEP 1: PRODUCT SURFACE TREATMENT

The product must be surface treated before powder coating. Surface treatment of the product is intended to bring about the following requirements:

• Clean industrial grease products (due to mechanical processing)
• Rust-free product
• The product does not rust again thanks to the zinc layer on the surface when treated with zinc phosphate.
• Creates a good zinc coating for adhesion between the paint film and metal.

Due to the above requirements, metal surface treatment before coating is often done by dipping the product into chemical tanks.

SURFACE TREATMENT PROCESS

Step 1: Clean the product's OIL and GREASE with NaOH solution

Step 2: Rinse with clean water.

Step 3: Soak the product in an acid bath (H2SO4 - HCl) to remove rust.

Step 4: Rinse with clean water.

Step 5: Soak the product in a tank containing surface shaping chemicals.

Step 6: Soak the product in a tank containing surface Phosphating chemicals.

STEP 2: DRY THE PRODUCT SURFACE BEFORE COATING

After chemical treatment, the product must be dried before coating. The product drying oven has a steam drying function to quickly bring the product into the coating chamber. Usually the drying oven has a cubic shape. The product is hung on a cart and pushed into the drying oven. The oven's main heat source is from an infrared stove, the fuel source is gas or electricity.

STEP 3: POWDER COATING PRODUCT

After chemical treatment and drying, the product is put into the spray booth and the paint is recovered. Due to the characteristics of powdered electrostatic paint, the ability of the paint to adhere to the metal surface is thanks to electrostatic force, which is why the paint spray booth also plays an important role in recovering excess paint powder. Recovered paint powder is mixed into new paint powder for reuse. This recovery is the superior economic feature of powder coating.
To paint and recover paint powder, we need electrostatic spraying equipment, and an air supply system including an air compressor and moisture separator.

STEP 4: DRYING TO SHAPE AND COMPLETE THE PRODUCT
After spraying paint, the product is put into the drying oven. Drying temperature: 180 - 200 degrees Celsius for 15 - 20 minutes. The oven's main heat source is an infrared stove or burner, and the fuel is gas or electricity.

STEP 5: CHECK AND PACKAGE PRODUCTS
After the product is dried, let it cool for a while, then the staff removes the product from the oven and carefully checks the painted surface before packaging. If any product fails, it will be processed and repainted.
